The Adventurer's Guild

The Adventurer's Guild is a neutral entity that transcends lines of statehood and citizenship. Their purpose is twofold: to provide a network for adventurers, and to administer a system of job bills for those requiring the aid of an adventurer. These bills are graded E through S by the guild according to their estimated difficulty, length of engagement, and overall danger (all as estimated by the guild). Upon completing a bill to the satisfaction of the petitioner, the adventurers are paid, with a cut kept to pay for the guild's services. Guild representatives can be found throughout the world in most major cities. Most are innkeepers or tavernmasters, as these places are natural hubs where adventurers tend to gather. These same inns and taverns will usually feature a bounty board where guild bills are posted for adventurers to peruse.

Guildship Bills by grade:

* '''E''' - The simplest of bills. Trivial in difficulty and rarely at all dangerous, these usually consist of odd jobs like finding lost kittens and shopping for groceries. Usually pay 50-150z.
* '''D''' - More challenging bills, but still mundane tasks. These bills might include investigating a philandering lover or exterminating simple pests plaguing a farmer's land. Pays between 150-400z.
* '''C''' - These bills are where "real adventurer work" starts. Some level of danger is assumed and unproven adventurers are usually turned away. These bills might include rooting out weaker monsters endangering a community, guard duty, or escorting travelers in the wild areas between cities and towns. Usually pays 400-800z
* '''B''' - The big leagues start here. These bills can include ruin diving and eradicating stronger monsters, as well as longer term engagements of the types found in C rank. Pay ranges from 800-1500z.

Each was given a land and people to govern, and sway over one of the elemental forces. Now there are only six, for in an act of treachery their brother Vritra was slain. The speaker then serves as a representative of the dragon's will to the people, as dragons themselves are incapable of speaking human tongues. The particular role of this speaker within the government of their people varies from nation to nation, but each enjoys a greatly privileged station.

In addition to serving as protectors to their people, dragons also serve an important purpose within the greater ecosystem of the world; they serve as conduits for the lifestream, guiding the flow of [[Aether]] as it passes between the moons and the planet above.

Each of these moons is home to intelligent life, living in colorful and myriad societies, each oblivious to the denizens of their sister moons. Despite their ignorance however, each is locked in an intricate cycle of life, death and rebirth; [[Aether]], the immaterial essence that comprises one's soul, flows through the planet of Celraenia and out to each moon in a flow known as [[The Lifestream]].
